RWT stands for Red Winemaking Trial, the name given to the project internally when developmental work began on a campaign to redefine Barossa Shiraz at the highest quality level. Penfolds have sourced the most premium fruit from dedicated Barossa growers, chosen on the basis of aromatic qualities and fine texture rather than intensity or power. Since the first vintage, collectors have recognised the sheer class of RWT, already the wine has a strong secondary market following, illustrating its collectability and cellaring potential Penfolds Bin 128 remains one of the purest editions within the Penfolds stable. French oak highlights the pepper, spice and floral characteristics that define this style.
